Question to the #ttrpg-crowd: how do non-level based Fantasy-games deal with progression of characters? In level-based systems you go from noob to hero in a quite short campaign.

Useless computer-skills that make the kid happy: installed a game from GOG that only works via windows but is a dosbox-game. Now it is running in the native linux-dosbox on his Ubuntu, in German (gog-launcher didn’t work) and he has it in his dock. Now he can play Dungeon Keeper.
