Each time I try to deal with SNMP I have the feeling that there are not a lot of people out there who actually use it…
First a printer-distributor who mixes up SMTP and SNMP and now a callcenter-agent.
Calling now the support because of the MIBs for a printer. Surprisingly the call center-agent doesn’t have a clue what I am talking about.
Maybe I am just doing something wrong but what are you doing when you want to get some information out of a new device via SNMP?
Why the hell is it always so hard to find MIBs? They add SNMP-support and then they don’t publish any documentation about the values.
